Where Do You Begin?
I am excited that you are interested in pursuing mental performance coaching, depending on your needs, goals, and abilities, there are multiple options that you can choose from for working with Coach Tyler, whether locally and in-person or online through Zoom or other video conferencing platforms. Whether you want to work one-on-one, as a team, or you are interested in a parent workshop for your team/league, there are options available for you. Regardless of your goals, everything starts with a free 30-60-minute consultation with Coach Tyler. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and to see if we are a good fit to work together.
To get started, fill out the contact form on this page and Coach Tyler will contact you to set up a consulation call within 24-hours. Depending on the coaching approach and duration, packages start as low as $150.
Individual Athlete Coaching: This option is best suited for athletes who truly want to see their performance skyrocket. It is fully customizable depending on their schedule and needs. This includes weekly meetings with Coach Tyler, a customized plan of action, and follow-up. Additional options include game-day support and check in’s, after action reviews after games or try-outs, and emergency outreach.
Team Coaching: If you want to see your club go to the next level, having mental performance training incorporated into your season is the key. Packages include weekly sessions with Coach Tyler as well as individual training for athletes who need it the mots. This package also focuses on preparing coaches to handle mental perforance needs during games and throughout the season. For full season packages, Coach Tyler offers sessions just for coaches, just parents, and just team leadership (captains, assistant captains, and influential players).
Free Team or Parenting Workshops: Coach Tyler believes in mental performance training enough that he offers a limited number of free workshops throughout the year for league staff, schools, coaches, parents, and travel organizations. These can focus on the topics you perceive are needed to be focused on or general overview. Use the contact form the inquire about free team or parenting workshops. Common topics include: Buildings and Breaking Confidence: How to Help Your Youth Athletes (great for 8U-12U); Supporting Love for the Game (Great for coaches and league owners to understand how to develop intrinsic motivation and love for the sport); Communication and Team Culture (Great for 12U and up).
Public Speaking Engagements: Through years of education, training, military experience, coaching, playing sports, and traveling the world, Coach Tyler has gained insight and a broad worldview, as well as some funny stories. He loves public speaking opportunities to share the theories of performance psychology through real-world applications and interesting antidotes. These engagements are great for discussing leadership attributes, bringing performance psychology strategies to parenting, coaching, or your workspace, and growing as an organization. Coaches Corner: This is strictly for sport coaches at any level. Coach Tyler and guests will give a monthly lesson covering sport psychology topics beneficial for coaches to know and then open the floor up for questions and discussions about applications and a general building of community. Coaches who become subscribing members also have access to all previous calls and a library of resources for worksheets, mental performance plans, and drils they can use on their own teams.
Return-to-Sport: If you are recovering from a major injury and you need a team of support to keep you motivated and focused on recovery, Coach Tyler is here to help. He has worked with a number of youth athletes recovering from knee and shoulder injuries and working their way back to competition again. Return-to-sport is an important time to develop purpose, strengthen values, and define your identity as they are all challenged by an abrupt, and unplanned, end to a season. You are working hard in physical therapy, so let’s work together to get you focused and ready to compete again.
Notes for Parents: If your athlete is under the age of 18, I expect you to be involved in their coaching. For the first session the first 10-minutes are for the parents and each session after that I will use the last 10-minutes of the session to sync with the parents. If you purchase a prolonged package of 4-sessions of more, there will be a one-on-one session with parents after the 4th session that is included in the cost of the package. This is an opportunity to give parents the skills, knowledge, and why behind the training so that you can continue it on the drives to and from the sports venue as well as at home.
Confidentiality: While working with athletes I will maintain confidentiality except for 3 situations at which time either parents (if under 18) or additional support will be contacted.
If I am concerned about a credible risk of self-harm.
If I am concerend about a credible risk of harm to someone else.
If there is evidence of abuse.
Summaries with parents at the end of training sessions will cover the topics discussed, the work for between sessions, and pertinent notes to help support the athlete’s training and performance between sessions.
